Chlorinator Use and Care

ALWAYS USE ONLY CHLORINE STICKS (TRI-CHLOR) THROUGH CHLORINATOR -- NEVER ADD GRANULAR CHLORINE OR ANY OTHER CHEMICAL TO THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!!!

To Stock Chlorinator:

1. Shut off pump
2. Release pressure with drain valve on bottom of chlorinator
3. Remove cap and fill appropriately with chlorine sticks. Avoid breathing fumes from pail of sticks and be careful of fumes from chlorinator when opening lid
4. Replace lid and turn the pump back on
5. Control flow of chlorine to pool with the flow control valve to maintain a 2.0 - 3.0 ppm reading

Periodic Preventative Maintenance:

• To be done at beginning of summer, middle of summer, and end of summer (more frequently if there appears to be a blockage of flow.)
• Disconnect, drain, and thoroughly rinse out and clean chlorinator.
• Disconnect tubes leading to and from chlorinator and run hot water through them to make sure they are free flowing and unobstructed.
• Re-connect chlorinator and check flow meter for proper water flow.
